Kara Tippets is a perfect example of grit and grace. She loved well and lived well in her short life. And as her health waned, her light shone even brighter. Beauty and strength. Fragility and courage. Hers is a powerful story and one well worth reading.
My story is plain-Jane. More journal than novel.
For years, I didn’t think I had a story worthy of telling. I thought that everyone had already heard the one about the good girl who goes her own way and comes back to her faith. It’s been done. And done better than I will do it, no doubt. Every time I read a new book, I considered that another reason I shouldn’t pursue writing my story. I let these comparisons control my decision-making. And that was a mistake. Luckily, one I can still correct.
We all have a story to tell. And it will resonate with the right person at just the right time. So for that reason, I will write.
